S-300 anti-aircraft missile system
Russia and Iran will sign an agreement for the delivery of advanced Russian-built S-300 anti-aircraft missile systems “soon,” Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told journalists at the Russian Arms Expo 2015which opened yesterday.
“All political decisions have been made,” he said, almost certainly in reference to an ongoing dispute between the two sides over the $4bn lawsuit Iran filed against Russia’s state arms export agency Rosoboronexport in 2011. Tehran had filed the suit after then-President Dmitry Medvedev banned cancelled an $800k missiles contract sign of good will toward the West.
