Russian aerospace budget: Russia is to spend over $21bn producing 3,300 airplanes in the next ten years, an official from the country’s Ministry of Industry and Trade said yesterday.
The programme provides for the construction of 1,500 civil aircraft – the majority of which will be Sukhoi Superjet-100s and short-range Irkut MC-21s – and 5,600 helicopters.The Ministry is also planning to take on the production of the Ilyushin-114 turboprop plane that used to be manufactured in Uzbekistan.
