Voronezh-Rostov rail line: Russian military engineers  have begun the construction of a rail link between the  Voronezh and Rostov regions alongside the Ukrainian border,  Deputy Defence Minister General  Dmitry Bulgakov told  Interfax last week.  The idea of building an exclusively Russian link down to the tourist resorts on the Black Sea was first proposed in January, ostensibly as a means of cutting down on the delays imposed by several crossings into Ukrainian territory. The  new 122.5km double-track electrified line is expected to take three years to build and to cost in the region of RUB57bn.  There are currently around  900 personnel and  360 units of special military equipment involved in the  project.
