Medvedev extends Russian food embargo

Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has ordered the Russian food embargo to be extended  until the end of 2017. “Our manufacturers have repeatedly argued for the preservation of the food embargo,” – he told the  Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.
The ban on  food imports from countries that had themselves imposed sanctions on Russia after its annexation of Russia in March 2014 was put in place in August of the same year, and has triggered price inflation that hit 12.9% last year.
