Russian internet market: The consulting and research company Frost & Sullivan is predicting that the number of internet users in Russia could increase by around 30% over the next 5-7 years, in an increasingly rare ray of hope for the country’s beleaguered economy. In its report The Russian Internet Landscape, Frost & Sullivan suggests that the landscape of Russia’s internet sector differs from much of the rest of the world, largely because of the dominance of the domestic search engined and service providers. “Despite an increasingly challenging macroeconomic and political environment, the Russian Internet economy has maintained high momentum.” its Information & Communication Technologies Lead Consultant Martin Hoff ter Heide said. “Russia already has the largest Internet audience in Europe, but there is still some room for the number of Internet users to increase.” Software Russia
