Russian voting age could be lowered in bid to increase engagement

Russian voting age: Alexei Didenko, Chief of Russia’s  Liberal Democratic parliamentary faction,  has drafted a bill that proposes lowering the voting age to 16 years in an attempt to increase turnout at elections. He claims that the move would not just increase the  electorate but also encourage older citizens to attend elections, “because if they don’t, the younger generation will make the choice for them.” RAPSI
