Siberian wood industry cluster secures $460m of Chinese funding

Siberian wood industry cluster: China’s AVIC Forestry Corporation has agreed to invest more than $460m in a series of 10 wood mills and processing plants in Siberia, the regions’s governor Sergey Zhvachkin said today. The first plant to be commissioned will be located near the town of Asino in Siberia’s Tomsk oblast and will have a capacity of 100,000 m³. The wood industry cluster will eventually include facilities dedicated to the  production of plywood and laminate, a  furniture factory and a saw-mill and will have a total production capacity of 1.7m³.  ITAR-TASS
