South Africa in $10bn nuclear power agreement: Russia and South Africa have  signed a $10 billion nuclear power cooperation deal that will see Russian VVER reactors being installed in the construction of  8 new nuclear power plants with a total installed capacity of up to 9. 6 GW by 2030. Rosatom Director-General Sergey Kiriyenko said the deal could create thousands of jobs and  orders worth up to  $10 billion. The Moscow Times
