Transneft has announced that it is planning to invest RUB 45bn ($760m) on the Eastern Siberia–Pacific Ocean oil pipeline system (ESPO) over the next five years. The money will go towards the expansion of the system’s capacity and will entail the construction of a total of 10 new pumping stations. The 4,740 km oil pipeline runs from Taishet in Irkutsk to the port of Kozmino in Nakhodka Bay and connects the oilfields of Western and Eastern Siberia with the Asian and US markets.
