Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is due to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin tomorrow at the Saint Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), where the possibility of an advance against revenues from a future Greek extension of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline is almost certain to play a part in discussions. Greece’s involvement in the new Shanghai-based BRICS bank is also likely to be on the agenda, with anonymous sources claiming that the crisis-stricken Greek government is planning to pay a small amount of money to the new bank in return for economic aid.
