Russia’s United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), expects to sign a $1.5bn deal with the country’s Ministry of  Defence for the production and delivery of  a further 48 Su-35 multi-role fighter aircraft by the end of the year, its President Yury Slyusa told a press conference at the MAKS 2015 air show outside Moscow this week.
The order is a repeat of a similar deal struck in 2009.“This [order] is very important for us,” Slyusar said . “It demonstrates that …. the military is satisfied with the performance of the first batch of planes.”
The other major winner at this year’s MAKS has been the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft company that came out of the show with the expectation of selling at least 100 SSJ 100 airliners in the near future.
