Ulyukayev adds Bashneft to Russian privatisation list

Bashneft and Rosneft, two of Russia’s largest energy companies, are to be privatised this year, the country’s Economic Development Minister Alexei Ulyukayev said over the weekend, but he ruled out a state sell-off of Sberbank for the foreseeable future. “Our [privatisation] proposals have been approved in general by the country’s leaders,” he said in an interview on the NTV television channel. “…There are other assets as well, including companies that are active on the market and that have been subject to a market-value appraisal. Naturally, we will  not sell below this market appraisal.” His personal contacts with the Russian business community indicated that they would be interested in acquiring some of these assets, he added.
