Eustream Chairman Mirek Topolanek
Slovakia’s gas transportation company Eustream has been holding talks with representatives from Bulgaria, Hungary and Romania about the feasibility of linking their country’s gas supply network to the Romanian-Bulgarian transit line which would give it – and eventually other European countries – access to hydrocarbon reserves from Azerbaijan and other non-Russian sources.
“We are offering a solution that would, in a relatively short period of time – provide West European markets [with access] to new sources of gas [particularly] the resources in the Caspian region,” Eustream’s Foreign Development Director Mirek Topolanek, told the Eastern Partnership Summit in Riga this week.
