Turkmenistan GDP: President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov last week told a joint meeting of his Cabinet of Ministers and the State Security Council that the country’s GDP could exceed 10% for 2014 once all the data had been processed, and should continue to accelerate in 2015. GDP growth rose by 10.3% in the first half of 2014, with gas output increasing by 12%, industrial production by 9% and construction by 10.5%. Investment was up by 8.3% and gas exports by 14.7%. New facilities at the Galkynysh gas field are expected to continue to boost both production and exports, and GDP growth is expected to reach 11.5% next year. Times of Central Asia
