Turkmenistan and Georgia: At a meeting in Bishkek this week, Turkmenistan’s President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and his Georgian counterpart Giorgi Margvelashvili discussed the possibility creating a transit corridor between the Black and Caspian Seas that would run through Azerbaijan and which would also extend south into Afghanistan. At a press conference held after the talks, they forecast that the corridor would give a powerful impetus to the development of interregional cooperation between Europe and the Middle East. AKI Press
