Overseas investment by Russian companies nosedives by 40%

Overseas investment by Russian companies fell back to $56bn in 2014, 40% down on the previous year, according to the latest report from United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). The drop was in stark contrast to global trends which saw FDI from China (including Hong Kong) rise by 38% to $266bn and total foreign investment by companies in emerging economies up 30% to almost half a trillion dollars.
