Arab Development Funds: A number of Arab financial institutions and development funds within the Arab Coordination Group have agreed to provide Uzbekistan with $700m in loans to help it with a number of health education and infrastructure projects. The Group’s members include the Islamic Development Bank, the Saudi Fund for Development, the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the OPEC Fund for International Development, and the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development. The funds are to be used to equip medical institutions and universities, introduce alternative sources of energy at secondary schools, reconstruct sewage and water supply systems, construct roads and electrify railroads.
