Japan and Uzbekistan sign $3.8bn investment package deal

Japan and Uzbekistan have signed a number of investment deals relating to the energy, chemical, tourism, transport and other sectors worth $3.8bn, the press office of Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced. The package of deals was largely ratified at the  12th session of the Uzbek-Japanese Committee on Economic Cooperation that took place in Tokyo last week where some 200 representatives of Japanese companies, banks and government agencies listened to a series of presentations from the the visiting Uzbek delegation.
