A consortium including Japan’s Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Uzbekistan’s Navoiazot have formed a consortium to build an ammonia and urea plant in the Central Asian country on a turnkey basis, according to the Jahon information agency. Other members of the consortium will include Denmark’s Haldor Topsoe, Italy’s Saipem and the Dutch Uhde Fertilizer Technology company. The new facility will have an annual production capacity 60,000 tons of ammonia and 577,500 ons of urea and will be financed by the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan and by Navoiazot itself.
