Liepaja logistics centre: A group of Uzbek exporters are planning to open a transport and logistics centre with a daily storage capacity of 1.5 thousand tons in the Latvian port of Liepaja. The new logistics centre will principally deal with the delivery of fresh fruits and vegetables directly to customers in Northern and Western Europe, a market which has tripled for Uzbek fruit and veg producers over the past three years and is now worth around $5bn.
