Uzbekistan’s GDP grew by 8% in the first half of this year, according to official statistics presented to the Cabinet of Ministers in Tashkent this week, with retail trade (15%) consumer goods (10.1%) and services (12.95) all enjoying double-digit growth. Agricultural production was up by 6.6% while over 9,000 private homes were commissioned and nearly 750,000 new created, 451,000 of them in rural areas.
